Problem Statement
To create a book that explains the meaning behind tattoos. To many different people in our society tattoos are perceived in many different ways and end up being stigmatized. There are a lot of gray areas and misunderstandings when it comes to the meaning behind tattoos which leads to misinterpretation of who people with ink are.
Duration: 3-4 Months
Role: My role as the designer was to explain information and help those understand that tattoos have meaning and help those find a way to explain them.
Solution & Programs
My design solution for this project is to be able to create an understanding of tattoos, and even be able to help those with explaining. It’s very important to have a solution like this because we now live in a society where tattoos are getting increasingly popular, and young people everywhere in the world found a way to express their personality by just their appearance. Instead of seeing tattoos as ruining your body, why not try to understand them and listen to their story? I see tattoos as a work of art, especially being a designer and artist. Tattoos are beautiful and inspirational.
With tattoos increasing, over time those young people will become parents and have to find a way to explain tattoos to their children as well as the risks that come with them but also the significance behind them.
